This study is testing whether a shorter, 5-day course of radiation therapy before surgery works as well as the standard 5-week course for people with soft tissue sarcoma (a cancer of muscles, fat, or connective tissues) — making treatment more convenient without sacrificing effectiveness. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You have been diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma of the arm, leg, or trunk confirmed by biopsy - You are considered eligible for surgery to remove the tumor (wide local excision) - You or your doctor have identified barriers to completing a 5-week daily radiation schedule (such as travel burden, financial concerns, or risk of tumor progression during a long treatment) - Your overall health is acceptable (ECOG performance status 0–3) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are not a candidate for surgery - You have already completed radiation therapy for this tumor - You have certain medical conditions that make radiation unsafe Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
