Summary

This observational study aims to identfy genetic targets involved in the pathogenesis of gynecological tumors, with a focus on high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma. Using a triple approach - in silico, ex vivo and in vitro - the study will investigate the role of gonadotropins and their related signaling pathways in the epithelial ovarian cancers. Gene and protein expression levels will be evaluated through transcriptomic analysis, immunohistochemistry and functional assays on tumor cell lines. The goal is to uncover potential diagnostic or therapeutic targets in gynecological malignancies.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This is a research study — not a treatment trial — that analyzes tumor tissue from women with ovarian cancer to identify genetic changes that could be targeted with future treatments. Understanding the genetics of these tumors may help researchers develop more personalized therapies. **You may be eligible if...** - You are a woman aged 18 or older - You have a confirmed diagnosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (including high-grade serous, endometrioid, mucinous, clear cell, or other types) - You have either signed a consent form for prospective collection, or your tissue is available under an ethically approved waiver for retrospective samples **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You refuse to provide or authorize use of your tissue sample - Your tumor is a low-grade or non-epithelial ovarian tumor - Your clinical or pathological records are insufficient for inclusion Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
