The New Empowerment After eXposure to Trauma (NEXT) Study

This study — called the NEXT Study — is testing a trauma therapy program designed specifically for pregnant women and new mothers who are experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The program is adapted from standard PTSD therapies to be safe and effective during and after pregnancy. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 years old or older - You can read and speak English - You are currently pregnant or have given birth within the last 16 weeks - You have symptoms that meet the criteria for probable PTSD (assessed via a standardized checklist) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are at high risk for suicide - You are experiencing psychotic or manic symptoms - You have significant cognitive impairment - You are already receiving trauma-focused therapy - You have legal proceedings related to your trauma that could complicate participation - You gave birth more than 12 weeks ago at the time of screening Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
