Summary

The goal of this controlled single centre RCT is to compare frequency rates concerning return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in prehospital cardiac arrest. Two different algorithms (control-and interventiongroup) of advanced cardiac life support will be used to treat patients. In patients over 18 years suffering from cardiac arrest. The main question aims to answer if the frequency of ROSC differs between the groups receiving either the new Advanced Life Support (ALS) algorithm, or standard treatment. Researchers will compare the new algorithm to the standard care algorithm to see if there is a difference . Participants will be randomized to treatment on scene. The controlgroup will receive ALS standard treatment as performed in local protocols. The intervention group will receive a modified treatment including: * thorax compression via mechanical device (LUCAS 3) * head up Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (cpr) * use of an impendance threshold device (ITD) module * arterial line placement * continuous epinephrin infusion via infusion pump * double sequence defibrillation
