Impact of Art Therapy on Self-Reported Pain and Anxiety Scores of Patients Waiting to Be Seen in the Emergency Department

This study is testing whether art therapy — simple art-making activities offered while waiting in the emergency department — can reduce pain and anxiety in patients who are waiting to be seen. It is a non-drug, creative intervention aimed at improving the patient experience during long, stressful waits. **You may be eligible if:** - You are 18 years or older - You are waiting to be seen in the emergency department - Your pain score is above 3 out of 10 at triage - Your anxiety score is elevated (measured by a standard screening tool) - You are fully alert and conscious (GCS score of 15) - You can speak English and provide informed consent **You may NOT be eligible if:** - There is concern about aggressive behavior or risk of harm to self or others - You are not fully alert or oriented - Your condition requires immediate critical care Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
