Summary

This clinical trial studies the effect of cancer directed therapy given at-home versus in the clinic for patients with cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Currently most drug-related cancer care is conducted in infusion centers or specialty hospitals, where patients spend many hours a day isolated from family, friends, and familiar surroundings. This separation adds to the physical, emotional, social, and financial burden for patients and their families. The logistics and costs of navigating cancer treatments have become a principal contributor to patients' reduced quality of life. It is therefore important to reduce the burden of cancer in the lives of patients and their caregivers, and a vital aspect of this involves moving beyond traditional hospital and clinic-based care and evaluate innovative care delivery models with virtual capabilities. Providing cancer treatment at-home, versus in the clinic, may help reduce psychological and financial distress and increase treatment compliance, especially for marginalized patients and communities.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is comparing giving cancer treatment at home versus in a clinic for people with advanced cancer. Many cancer drugs (including some infusions and targeted therapies) are now able to be administered safely at home by trained nurses. This trial aims to see whether home-based treatment is just as effective, safe, and preferred by patients compared to coming into a clinic for each treatment session. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with a histologically confirmed cancer (many types are eligible, including breast, lung, colorectal, lymphoma, leukemia, myeloma, and others) - You are already receiving or about to start a standard-of-care treatment regimen that is FDA-approved or recommended by major oncology guidelines (such as NCCN or ASCO) - You are receiving the eligible treatment regimen as listed in the study protocol **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your treatment regimen is not one of those approved for home administration in this trial - You are not able to receive adequate care in a home setting - You do not meet the specific medical criteria for your treatment type Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
