Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is measuring how volatile organic compounds (tiny chemical molecules) in a person's exhaled breath change throughout the day, comparing people without diabetes, people with Type 1 diabetes, and people with Type 2 diabetes. The goal is to understand how the body's daily rhythms affect these breath markers. **You may be eligible if:** - You are 18 or older - You either have no diabetes (HbA1c below 6.5%), OR have Type 1 diabetes on insulin therapy for more than 1 year, OR have Type 2 diabetes on oral medications or insulin **You may NOT be eligible if:** - You are pregnant or breastfeeding - You have smoked a cigarette in the last 6 months - You have a chronic lung or bowel disease (such as asthma, COPD, IBD, or lung cancer) - You have celiac disease or lactose/fructose intolerance - You have an acute infection - You drink more than 4 alcoholic drinks per day - You take inhaled medications or have taken antibiotics in the last 4 months Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
