Researchers want to find out if the shorter approach works just as well. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (a type of cancer) of the voice box - Your cancer is early stage (stage 0 to II) with no spread to lymph nodes - You are 18 years or older - You are in reasonably good health and able to function independently - You are willing to use contraception if you could become pregnant **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your cancer is stage III or IV - Your cancer has spread to a specific cartilage in the throat (arytenoid) - You have already had chemotherapy for this cancer - You have had prior radiation to the same area - You currently smoke more than one pack of cigarettes per day - You have serious uncontrolled health conditions like heart failure or active infection Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
