This study is testing transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) — a painless, low-level electrical scalp stimulation — in young people aged 12 to 25 who have mild depressive symptoms that don't yet meet the full criteria for major depression. The goal is to see whether this brain stimulation can reduce symptoms before they worsen. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 12 and 25 years old - You are right-handed - You have 2–4 depressive symptoms lasting more than 1 week, or 5+ symptoms lasting 1–2 weeks (not quite meeting criteria for major depression) - Your depression score on the Hamilton scale (HAMD-24) is between 8 and 23 **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You meet full diagnostic criteria for major depression or have another DSM-5 psychiatric diagnosis - You have significant neurological, heart, or other serious medical conditions - You have metal implants in your head or a history of seizures Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
