SPACE: a Parent-based Treatment for Pediatric OCD

This study tests a parent-focused treatment called SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) for children with OCD whose anxiety is so severe they struggle to engage in standard therapy. Instead of treating the child directly, parents are coached to change how they respond to OCD behaviors at home. **You may be eligible if...** - Your child is between 7 and 18 years old and has been diagnosed with OCD as their primary condition - Your child has not benefited from previous psychological treatment for OCD, or could not complete it - Your child's OCD is still at a clinical level at the start of the study (score of 16 or higher on the CY-BOCS scale) - Parents show high levels of "family accommodation" (changing family routines to avoid triggering the child's OCD) - Your child may be on medication for OCD, as long as the dose has been stable for at least 4 weeks before and during participation **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your child needs inpatient psychiatric care - Your child has active suicidal thoughts or psychotic symptoms - Neither parent is available to participate - Parents do not speak Dutch well enough to engage with the program - Parents or the child have an estimated IQ below 75 Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
