Conditions

Summary

The goal of this observational study is to learn about post-surgery of pancreatic cancer diabetes mellitus. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Are the incident rates of glucose metabolic disorders (pre-diabetes and diabetes mellitus) after pancreatic cancer of different etiologies the same? 2. Are alterations in endocrine and exdocrine secretory function in patients with pancreatic surgery associated with all-round outcomes? All patients with pancreatic surgery have been given the standardized treatment for the condition. The reasearchers will summarize the incident rates of glucose metabolic disorders (pre-diabetes and diabetes mellitus) during different surgical procedures to explore the association between alternations in endocrine and exdocrine secrectory function and all-round outcomes.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is collecting data and tissue samples from patients with pancreatic cancer who are undergoing surgery to remove part or all of the pancreas. The goal is to understand the relationship between pancreatic cancer and diabetes, which often occurs together, and to find early warning signs using blood markers and tissue analysis. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You are a patient in China scheduled for pancreatic surgery at the participating hospital - You have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - You have previously enrolled in the hospital's pancreatic surgery cohort study and provided consent - You have blood samples and tissue specimens already stored at the hospital **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have not completed prior consent or enrollment in the cohort study - You have not had biological specimens (blood/tissue) banked at the hospital - You are not undergoing pancreatic surgery at the participating center Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
