This pilot study uses a new imaging technology called photoacoustic imaging — which uses light and sound to see inside tissues — to track how head and neck cancers respond to radiation therapy, with the goal of evaluating whether this imaging method can help doctors monitor treatment more accurately. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with head and neck cancer confirmed by biopsy or lab test - You have not yet received any treatment and will be treated with radiation therapy - You are in good general health (ECOG 0–1) - Your life expectancy is at least 6 months - Your blood counts and organ function are adequate **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have had chemotherapy, radiation, or major surgery in the last 4 weeks - You are receiving another experimental treatment - You have cancer that has spread to the brain - You have an uncontrolled infection or serious heart condition - You have previously had radiation to the same area Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
