Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is testing whether a structured aerobic exercise program can improve thinking and memory (cognitive function) in people with Parkinson's disease. It aims to find out if getting the heart rate up through regular exercise helps protect the brain against Parkinson's-related cognitive decline. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 40 and 80 years old with a confirmed diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's disease - Your Parkinson's disease is not severely advanced (Hoehn and Yahr stage below 4) - Your Parkinson's medications have been stable for at least 2 months (if applicable) - You do not have significant memory or cognitive problems (MoCA score 23 or above) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with a different form of parkinsonism (e.g., drug-induced, multiple system atrophy) - You have another major neurological condition or significant cognitive impairment - You have significant depression that prevents you from exercising - You have serious heart, kidney, or metabolic disease that makes exercise unsafe without medical clearance - You have been taking antipsychotic or dopamine-blocking medications recently Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
