Concordance of Molecular Classification Based on Fine Needle Biopsy (FNB) and Surgical Samples

This study examines whether the molecular (genetic) profile of a thyroid cancer tumor found on a needle biopsy (a small sample taken through the skin) matches the profile found in the surgical specimen after the thyroid is removed. This can help validate whether biopsy-based genetic testing is accurate enough to guide treatment decisions before surgery. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You have been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer (or a thyroid nodule with positive genetic markers) based on a fine needle biopsy - Your tumor is larger than 1 cm on imaging - You are scheduled for and able to undergo thyroid surgery **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have a history of radiation to the neck - You are unwilling or unable to have a fine needle biopsy - You are not willing to undergo thyroid surgery - Your final surgery result does not show papillary thyroid cancer Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
