Traditional treatment for thyroid cancer often involves surgery, but researchers want to see if ablation can be equally effective with fewer complications for small, low-risk tumors. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 18 and 80 years old - You have papillary thyroid carcinoma confirmed by needle biopsy - Your tumor is 2 cm or smaller in its largest dimension - There is no evidence that the cancer has spread to lymph nodes, distant organs, or broken through the thyroid capsule on imaging - You have been followed up for at least 12 months **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your biopsy shows an aggressive form of papillary thyroid cancer or a different type of thyroid cancer - You have a history of neck radiation or prior thyroid surgery - You have a blood clotting disorder - You have serious heart, lung, liver, or kidney failure - You have a non-functioning vocal cord on the opposite side of the planned procedure Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
