This study is testing ultrasound-guided thermal ablation — a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat to destroy tumor tissue — as a treatment for small papillary thyroid carcinoma (a common and usually slow-growing type of thyroid cancer), as an alternative to surgery. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18–80 years old - You have been diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma confirmed by biopsy - Your tumor is 2 cm or smaller - There is no evidence that the cancer has spread beyond the thyroid (no extension into surrounding tissue, lymph node involvement, or distant spread) on imaging - You have had at least 12 months of follow-up **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your cancer shows aggressive features or is a different type of thyroid cancer - You have a history of radiation to your neck - You have a blood clotting disorder or serious heart, breathing, liver, or kidney problems - You have paralysis of the vocal cord on the opposite side of the tumor Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
